What looked like a potential injury crisis mounting up for Manchester United doesn't appear too serious, after all.
Ahead of Saturday's clash with Crystal Palace, United manager Jose Mourinho announced that a number of concerns over players who were in action during the international break have been alleviated.
Anthony Martial should be fit after an adductor injury ruled him out of France duty; Paul Pogba, who missed the Manchester derby and Les Bleus action this month with a thigh problem, is expected to have recovered; and the knock Marcus Rashford suffered for England is not worrying. Romelu Lukaku and Marouane Fellaini have also both been deemed ready to play.
"It's been two weeks waiting for news, good or bad, from the boys playing for their national teams,” Mourinho said during his pre-match press conference.
"Martial stayed with us, he didn't go with the national team. He worked really hard. He was in a pre-injury situation, but worked really hard and he's going to play tomorrow. Fellaini is going to play.
"Rashford came back (from England duty) with a little problem but he is ready. Lukaku is ready, with a little bit of a risk, but doubtful, and Paul (Pogba), we knew in this break he would recover so I don't think we have players who I can say are out of the game tomorrow.
"We have a huge group to choose from tomorrow."
Though Luke Shaw is suspended due to yellow card accumulation and there remain slight doubts over the fitness of Eric Bailly and Diogo Dalot, Mourinho will have a near-full contingent to call upon for the Palace clash.
Meanwhile, Palace boss Roy Hodgson confirmed former United forward Wilfried Zaha is likely to be fit to face his old side.
United are eighth in the Premier League table after 12 games following the 3-1 derby defeat to Manchester City, but could rise to sixth with a win.
