Leicester City winger Demarai Gray was shown a yellow card after he celebrated his goal Saturday against Cardiff City with a tribute to the club's late owner.

Gray removed his jersey to reveal a special shirt with the inscription "Khun Vichai," referring to the late chairman and owner of Leicester, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, who died in a tragic helicopter crash outside King Power Stadium on Oct. 27.

Teammates joined Gray in a heartwarming celebration before the 22-year-old was booked for removing his jersey.

The International Football Association Board says a player must be cautioned for "removing the shirt or covering the head with the shirt," but many on social media took issue with the ruling because of the nature of Gray's message.

His effort was the only goal in a 1-0 win for the travelling Foxes.
