Schalke's Kolasinac to decide whether to join Arsenal this week, says father
Arsenal could discover this week if left-back Sead Kolasinac has decided to take his talents to north London, according to the Schalke player's father.
The 23-year-old has been linked with a move to Arsenal on a free transfer as his contract with Schalke enters its final months before expiring this summer.
His father, Faik Kolasinac, confirmed that his son has been contacted by the Premier League outfit, but revealed that reports of a pre-contract agreement are false.
"Sead has not signed anything with anyone. It is true that he was in touch with Arsenal, but he is not Arsenal's player yet," Faik said in an interview with RevierSport, as translated by ESPNFC's Mattias Karen.
Faik added that a decision will be made this week regarding the 23-year-old's future.
"We will see," he said. "This week I will meet Sead and his agent. We will sit down and finally make a decision."
With Kieran Gibbs expected to leave Arsenal this summer when his contract expires, Kolasinac - who has been capped by Bosnia and Herzegovina 17 times, will compete with Nacho Monreal for first-team opportunities if he opts to join the Gunners.
