Mido: Juventus' signing of Ibrahimovic resulted in move to Roma
Among the most notorious stories of Mido's unsettled career as a player is one from his spell at AFC Ajax, in which he allegedly threw a pair of scissors at Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Luckily, the two players weren't in the same room when the Egyptian maverick found out the Swedish striker was heading to Juventus.
In conversation with DMC TV, Mido said he was supposed to join Juventus but ended up putting pen to paper on a contract with AS Roma after the Old Lady opted for Ibrahimovic. Both footballers shared an agent in Mino Raiola.
"When I arrived at the airport, Raiola called me and told me that I had to cancel my trip to Turin since Juventus had reached an agreement with Ibra instead and I was going to Roma," Mido said, according to ESPN FC.
Of course, the two players experienced very different careers in Italian football. Mido made only eight Serie A appearances for Roma before being loaned to Tottenham Hotspur, while Ibrahimovic made 70 appearances for Juventus and was part of the squad that was stripped of a title due to the Calciopoli scandal.

Having played for 11 clubs in 14 years, Mido is working as a manager at Wadi Degla FC of the Egyptian Premier League.
