Hull City worked a manic final 48 hours of the summer window, slipping in the signing of well-travelled Congolese striker Dieumerci Mbokani before the transfer deadline.
Mbokani will spend the campaign on loan from Dynamo Kyiv, with Hull retaining the right to buy the 30-year-old.
He led Norwich City in Premier League scoring last season with seven goals, although his efforts weren't enough to stave off relegation.
The Tigers will hope to get a similar return as they look to avoid the same fate as the Canaries.
Hull only began to make signings Tuesday after a disastrous few months that included the resignation of Steve Bruce as manager. Mbokani represents Hull's fifth signing over the past two days, a whirlwind space of transfer activity.
Kyiv - which is competing in the Champions League this season - couldn't guarantee Mbokani regular minutes, and allowed him to leave the club on loan once more. He has just one year remaining on his contract with the Ukrainian outfit.
