West Brom snags Nyom from Watford as Gamboa replacement
West Brom brought in right-back Allan Nyom from Watford on Wednesday as a direct replacement for Cristian Gamboa in the position.
Nyom put pen to paper on a four-year contract at the Hawthorns for an undisclosed fee.
Costa Rica international Gamboa signed for Celtic on a permanent transfer Tuesday.
Nyom was a regular starter last year with the Hornets, but he was allowed to leave Vicarage Road after manager Walter Mazzarri made several signings in defence.
The arrivals of right-backs Daryl Janmaat and Brice Dja Djedje made it all but impossible for Nyom to retain a starter's role in Hertfordshire.
The 28-year-old will now compete for minutes with Craig Dawson. It's a battle Gamboa lost, as he made fewer than 20 appearances for the Baggies over the past two seasons.
