Championship roundup: Leeds end Ipswich's perfect start, Leicester go top
Leeds ended Ipswich's perfect start to the English Championship in a 4-3 thriller at Portman Road as Leicester beat Rotherham 2-1 to go top of the table on Saturday.
Despite going behind early on to Joe Rodon's own goal, Leeds roared back to give Daniel Farke his first win in charge.
Georginio Rutter levelled before Wilfried Gnonto, who returned to the squad after ending his transfer stand-off with the club, and new signing Joel Piroe put the visitors in front.
Nathan Broadhead pulled one back for Ipswich, but Luis Sinisterra restored Leeds' two-goal cushion and ensured a vital three points despite Conor Chaplin's 97th-minute consolation.
Sinisterra had also been recalled by Farke after he too was left out for the past two games due to doubts over his future.
"I wasn't too concerned about these two decisions," said Farke on recalling the Colombian and Italian international Gnonto.
"I've watched them during the training week and they looked really, really sharp and disciplined and I had a really good feeling with this decision."
Defeat drops Ipswich from first to sixth, with Leicester jumping to the summit after making it four wins from four on their return to the second tier.
Kasey McAteer scored his first two senior goals for the Foxes, either side of Fred Onyedinma's leveller, to maintain Enzo Maresca's perfect start.
Norwich moved into second as goals from Josh Sargent, Jonathan Rowe, Adam Idah and Ashley Barnes earned a 4-0 win at Huddersfield.
Birmingham, Southampton and Preston are level with the Canaries on 10 points after all were 2-1 winners over Plymouth, QPR and Swansea respectively.
Last season's playoff semi-finalists Middlesbrough are in the bottom three after losing 4-2 to West Brom.
Millwall were 1-0 winners over Stoke, while Coventry's clash with Sunderland finished goalless.
