Christian Eriksen has been offered a chance to return to the Premier League.

Brentford are understood to have tabled a six-month contract to sign the 29-year-old midfielder, according to Jay Harris of The Athletic.

The deal includes an option to extend his stay for a further year.

The Denmark international has been out of contract since his deal at Inter Milan was terminated in December over medical issues related to the cardiac arrest he suffered in Denmark's opening Euro 2020 match last June.

The incident required Eriksen to be fitted with an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator, which is prohibited under Serie A medical rules. However, Eriksen has insisted he can still compete at a high level.

Eriksen, who's been training with his former club, Odense Boldklub, since his release from Inter, is believed to be intrigued by a return to the Premier League. He starred at Tottenham Hotspur for seven years before joining Inter in 2020.

A Football Association-approved cardiac specialist would have to assess Eriksen before he's able to join an English club, Harris notes.
