Jimmy Greaves, who won the World Cup with England in 1966 and scored more than 250 goals for Tottenham in the '60s, was admitted to the hospital late Tuesday evening.

"We can confirm that our record goalscorer Jimmy Greaves is currently being treated in hospital," Spurs announced on Twitter. "We are in touch with his family and will provide further updates in due course."

Greaves, 80, spent more than a month in the hospital after suffering a severe stroke in 2015. He's been wheelchair-bound in the years since.

There's no indication he's suffering from any symptoms related to COVID-19.

Known as a clinical finisher, Greaves led Tottenham during the club's most successful period, winning the FA Cup in 1962 and 1967 and the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1963.

He began his career at Chelsea and spent one year at AC Milan before joining Tottenham in 1961.
