Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been charged with misconduct for his wild on-pitch celebration during Sunday's Merseyside derby, the FA announced Monday.

Klopp couldn't contain himself after Divock Origi's bizarre 96th-minute winner against Everton at Anfield, as he sprinted onto the field to celebrate with goalkeeper Alisson.

The manager has until 1 p.m. ET on Thursday to respond to the charge.

Klopp later apologized for his actions, while Toffees counterpart Marco Silva defended the German and suggested he may have reacted similarly if his own team had scored the last-gasp winner.

The Telegraph's John Percy said the FA believes the celebration risked inciting crowd trouble and was inappropriate because the game had yet to end. However, Percy added that Klopp only faces a fine rather than a touchline ban.
