The knee injury that Arsenal's Sead Kolasinac suffered during a pre-season win against Chelsea will force the defender to miss eight-to-10 weeks, the club announced Friday.

Kolasinac limped off the pitch Wednesday after 70 minutes in a friendly match that the Gunners eventually won on penalties.

The timeline suggests the Bosnia and Herzegovina international will not be match fit until late September or early October.

Meanwhile, Arsenal also revealed Aaron Ramsey "developed tightness in his right calf," but there's hope that the midfielder can return to training next week.

Arsenal kick off their Premier League campaign at home against Manchester City on Aug. 12.
