Report: Newcastle, West Ham looking at Atlanta United star Almiron

Miguel Almiron has been one of Atlanta United's brightest stars since the expansion franchise began Major League Soccer play in 2016, and it appears his reputation is spreading.

Premier League rivals Newcastle United and West Ham United are both keen on the No. 10, according to the Guardian's Ed Aarons. However, Aarons, who suggests the Paraguay international is valued at around £20 million ($26 million) by his club, asserts no formal bid has been made for the 24-year-old.

Almiron joined Atlanta as a Young Designated Player ahead of the club's inaugural MLS season and has been a premier creative talent in the league ever since. Named MLS Newcomer of the Year at the end of his first campaign, he's amassed 17 goals and 19 assists in 51 league appearances over a season and a half in Georgia.

It was alleged late last year that The Five Stripes had turned down a European offer worth between $20 million and $25 million last summer, and in June, Serie A side Fiorentina was credited with having interest in Almiron, although no offer was publicly confirmed.
