Roma sporting director Monchi admitted that an agreement with Liverpool has been reached for goalkeeper Alisson.
During Justin Kluivert's unveiling Thursday, Monchi revealed that the Merseyside club made a "significant offer" for the Brazilian, who is in the process of going through a medical.
"The player's there undergoing a medical and, if he passes that, the deal could go through," Monchi told reporters, as translated by ESPN FC's Ben Gladwell.
"It's hard when you're a sporting director - we received a significant offer for Alisson and we evaluated it.
"In the end, we took a decision and, speaking with Liverpool, we reached an agreement."
Although Monchi didn't disclose specifics over Liverpool's offer, it's understood that the English team has offered €75 million (£66.9 million) to sign Alisson - a world-record transfer fee for a goalkeeper. Liverpool previously failed to convince the Giallorossi to sell the 25-year-old with its initial €70-million bid.
Monchi: "Selling Alisson would not show a lack of ambition. For me, ambition is about doing the right thing after thinking everything through.

Alisson kept 17 clean sheets in 37 Serie A appearances for a Roma side that finished third.
Liverpool and Roma clashed in the semi-finals of last season's Champions League, with the English side winning over two legs by an aggregate score of 7-6.
The completion of the deal will see Liverpool's summer spending exceed £100 million following the arrivals of Fabinho (£40 million) and Xherdan Shaqiri (£13.5 million).
