England has rarely been this enjoyable.

Both fans and media lapped up Sunday's massive 6-1 victory over Panama, knowing they had just witnessed a historic result. The Three Lions had never before scored five goals in a single World Cup match - let alone in one half.

Here are the most telling stats from one of the most lopsided contests in recent tournament history:

2: As a result of his brace against Panama, centre-back John Stones can boast more World Cup goals than Wayne Rooney. Stones has also outscored the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Luis Suarez in Russia.

3: Harry Kane's hat-trick may not have been the purest, but it's noteworthy nonetheless. The prolific striker became one of just three players to record a treble for England at a World Cup, along with Gary Lineker and Geoff Hurst.

4: England is the fourth team in World Cup history to carry a five-goal lead into the break.

5: England had managed only five goals in the previous two World Cups combined. The Three Lions hit that total in the first 45 minutes versus Panama.

5 percent: Kane is responsible for five percent of all the goals England has ever scored at World Cups.

40: Forty minutes separated Kane's first and third goals, making his hat-trick one of the quickest in World Cup history. Argentina's Gabriel Batistuta holds the record at 10 minutes.

54 percent: England converted a whopping 54 percent of its shots against Panama.

74: Panama, however, became the 74th country to score at the World Cup when 37-year-old striker Felipe Baloy directed a free-kick past goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. Incidentally, Baloy also became the fourth-oldest goalscorer at a World Cup.

153: Kane needed just 153 minutes to score his first five World Cup goals. It took Messi 1,444 minutes to reach the same total.

1982: Stones is the first Manchester City player to score a World Cup goal for England since Trevor Francis in 1982.
