Bayern Munich complete domestic double by winning DFB-Pokal
Two down, one to go.
Bayern Munich completed a domestic double by retaining the DFB-Pokal trophy on Saturday, beating Bayer Leverkusen 4-2 in the final at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
It's Bayern's 20th German cup victory - 14 more than any other team - and it comes on the back of the Bavarian side winning yet another Bundesliga title last month.
The treble-seeking club will now turn its attention to the Champions League, which resumes in August.
Bayern, as expected, came out on the front foot Saturday, taking a 2-0 lead into the interval after goals from David Alaba and Serge Gnabry, with the former opening the scoring with a pinpoint free-kick from just outside the area.

The second stanza was all about Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker found the net twice, bringing his absurd tally to 51 goals in 44 matches across all competitions this season.
Leverkusen received a goal from Sven Bender and a stoppage-time penalty from Kai Havertz, who could leave the club this summer. But Bayern never truly seemed in danger of being upset.
Hansi Flick and Co. will now get an extended break before their Champions League campaign continues. Bayern carry a commanding 3-0 lead into the second leg of their last-16 matchup with Chelsea, and considering their form since the season restarted, they'll surely be amongst the favorites to win the coveted continental title for the first time since 2013.
