Watch: Benzema criticizes 'rubbish' Real Madrid teammate Vinicius Jr.
Tunnel footage has captured Karim Benzema criticizing Real Madrid teammate Vinicius Junior after the Spanish side went down 1-0 in the opening half of Wednesday's Champions League match against Borussia Monchengladbach.
"He is playing rubbish," Benzema told his French compatriot Ferland Mendy, as translated by ESPN FC's Julien Laurens. "Don't pass him the ball, bro, on my mum's life. He is playing against us."
Benzema's comments were made as the Portuguese-speaking Vinicius stood just feet away.
Real Madrid mounted a comeback after Vinicius was removed from the match in the 70th minute, with Benzema and Casemiro scoring late goals to secure the team's first point of the group stage.
On Saturday, Real Madrid midfielder Isco was caught on camera complaining to teammates about manager Zinedine Zidane over his limited role during the team's El Clasico win over Barcelona.
