Ranking the 5 best goals from Tuesday's Champions League action
Thirty goals were scored across eight Champions League matches on Tuesday, as some of the tournament's heavy hitters made short work of their opposition. Here, we rank the five best tallies from an eventful day in Europe's premier club competition.
5. Raheem Sterling vs. Atalanta
Raheem Sterling, who's in the midst of an outrageous season, became the first Englishman to score a Champions League treble for Manchester City when he found the net three times in Tuesday's 5-1 destruction of Atalanta. His first of the day was an exercise in patience from the Citizens.
4. Kylian Mbappe vs. Club Brugge
Kylian Mbappe also got in on the hat-trick fun, coming off the bench and picking Club Brugge apart. This particular strike, though, is all about the pass from Angel Di Maria. My word.
3. Corentin Tolisso vs. Olympiacos
You couldn't place this lovely tally from Corentin Tolisso any better if you threw it into the net. Good thing for Bayern Munich, too, as the Frenchman's precise effort was the eventual winner in a 3-2 triumph over Olympiacos.
2. Paulo Dybala vs. Lokomotiv Moscow
Paulo Dybala saved Juventus from an embarrassing home defeat to Lokomotiv Moscow, scoring twice in two minutes to secure a 2-1 comeback win over the Russian side. His first goal of the contest was a trademark left-footed curler that left Lokomotiv 'keeper Guilherme rooted to the spot.
1. Raheem Sterling vs. Atalanta (again)
Hey Siri, show me how to cut the opposing defense to shreds:
