Martin Skrtel's career at Liverpool is officially at an end.
On Thursday, Skrtel's transfer to Fenerbahce was completed, as the Slovakian centre-back was welcomed by the Turkish club on Twitter. The move is valued at £5.5 million, according to James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo.
Skrtel, 31, took the pitch 319 times for Liverpool after signing with the Reds in 2008. However, the defender fell down the Merseyside club's pecking order following last year's arrival of Jurgen Klopp, who was called a "dickhead" on the player's Instagram page, prompting an apology in which he claimed a "close friend" got carried away and "the opinion he expressed is not my opinion."
At Fenerbahce, Skrtel will have a chance to play in the 2016-17 Champions League, as the Turkish club will enter the tournament in the third qualifying round.
