Argos ink 2 imports, announce 2 retirements
The Toronto Argonauts signed a pair of imports Thursday, bringing in defensive back Akwasi Owusu-Ansah and receiver Kenny Shaw.
Owusu-Ansah played in the NFL for a few years, dressing in 15 total games between the Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars and Detroit Lions. He was used sparsely as a kick and punt returner, in addition to serving as a defensive back.
Kenny Shaw played alongside 2015 NFL Draft first-overall selection Jameis Winston for Florida State. Shaw was a constant target for Winston in 2013, collecting 54 receptions for 933 yards. He ran the NFL gamut the following year, trying out for a number squads, including the Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars and Oakland Raiders.
The Argonauts also announced that import running backs Steve Slaton and Bernard Scott have called it a career, while import linebacker Nicholas Williams was released.
