Jon Cornish continued his run as the top non-import CFL player after being named Most Outstanding Canadian for the third consecutive year Thursday.
The Calgary Stampeders running back was the only player to record over 1,000 rushing yards despite missing half the season due to injuries. Cornish was on pace to break the league's single-season rushing yards record if he played in all 18 games rather than nine.
The only other player to take home the top Canadian award three years in a row was Tony Gabriel, who won it from 1976-78. Cornish defeated Hamilton Tiger-Cats defensive lineman Ted Laurent for the award.
