Calgary, AB (SportsNetwork.com) - Joe Cornish rushed for 156 yards on 20 carries, as the Calgary Stampeders held off the BC Lions, 14-7, in a low-scoring West Division showdown at McMahon Stadium.

Cornish also added three receptions for 20 yards for Calgary (11-2), which continues its reign in first place. Drew Tate had a quiet outing under center in place of an injured Bo Levi Mitchell, completing 12-of-23 passes for 162 yards, and Maurice Price hauled in two passes for 66 yards.

For BC (7-6), Kevin Glenn struggled with 127 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions on 14-of-25 passing. Andrew Harris picked up 76 rushing yards on 12 attempts.

BC started the game off right with a major on the opening possession. The nine-play drive was capped off by a 2-yard touchdown run by John Beck.

Calgary cut into its deficit midway through the second quarter on a 24-yard field goal by Rene Paredes. The score would remain 7-3 in favor of the Lions heading into halftime.

BC conceded a safety early in the third quarter to give two points to Calgary, then Paredes knocked through a 35-yard field goal less than three minutes later to give the Stamps their first lead of the game, 8-7.

Paredes added a 43-yarder later in the frame and then made a 30-yarder early in the fourth quarter to give Calgary a seven-point lead, 14-7.

The Lions advanced the ball into Calgary territory on their final drive, but their hopes were dashed when Glenn was picked off by Keon Raymond.
