The Edmonton Eskimos are parting ways with backup quarterback Jonathan Crompton, releasing the 26-year-old on Wednesday.
Crompton joined Edmonton in 2013 and completed 30-of-58 passes for 451 yards in relief of starter Mike Reilly. He tossed five touchdowns and five interceptions and also recorded a rushing touchdown on five carries for 20 yards.
Before joining the CFL, Crompton spent time with the San Diego Chargers, New England Patriots, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Washington Redskins but did not see a down of NFL action.
