Montreal Alouettes quarterback Davis Alexander was named the CFL's Most Outstanding Player for the 2026 season Thursday as the league finished handing out its major individual awards.
Alexander threw for 5,257 yards and 35 touchdowns while completing 72.1% of his passes, leading the Alouettes to a CFL-best 14-4 record in the regular season. The 28-year-old threw four interceptions on the year and joined the legendary Anthony Calvillo as the only Montreal signal-callers to eclipse 5,000 yards passing in a single season.
Alexander's primary target, wide receiver Tyson Philpot, took home Most Outstanding Canadian honors. The Delta, British Columbia native set Canadian records with 1,809 receiving yards and 124 receptions this season. He notched 13 receiving touchdowns in 16 games.
The CFL named the rest of the individual award-winners earlier this week. BC Lions linebacker Darnell Sankey won Most Outstanding Defensive Player, while Winnipeg Blue Bombers defensive back Trey Vaval earned Most Outstanding Rookie honors.
