Elks' Arceneaux retires after 11 CFL seasons

Edmonton Elks wide receiver Emmanuel Arceneaux announced Tuesday that he's retiring from professional football.

"Thank you to everyone who has been a part of my journey," he wrote on social media. "It wasn't easy, but together we made it through!"

Arceneaux played 11 seasons in the CFL, spending eight campaigns with the BC Lions, one with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and the last two with the Elks.

The 36-year-old also appeared in three games for the Minnesota Vikings in 2011 and 11 contests for the Indoor Football League's Frisco Fighters in 2021.

Arceneaux's best season came with the Lions in 2016, when he recorded 105 receptions for 1,566 yards and 13 touchdowns, all career highs. He had four 1,000-yard seasons with BC.

The 6-foot-2, 218-pounder totaled 9,277 yards and 58 touchdowns on 645 receptions in 164 career CFL games. Arceneaux also posted 479 yards and a pair of scores in nine playoff appearances.
