Toronto Argonauts quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson is in danger of missing Sunday's East Final against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats after violating COVID-19 protocols by attending a Toronto Raptors game on Thursday, the CFL announced Friday.

Bethel-Thompson will need to quarantine at home for two days and two nights. He'll be eligible to play against Hamilton if he tests negative on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

He is unable to practice but will attend team meetings virtually.

Four additional Argonauts players - safety Dexter McCoil, defensive end Charleston Hughes, wide receiver Llevi Noel, and defensive back Jeff Richards - also attended the basketball game and will be subject to the same quarantine and testing requirements.

Bethel-Thompson went to the Raptors' game against the Milwaukee Bucks at the Argonauts' request, according to Dave Naylor of TSN. He was interviewed courtside while wearing a mask.

Argonauts head coach Ryan Dunwiddie said the team is "preparing to play without" Bethel-Thompson, according to Mark Zwolinski of The Toronto Star.

If the veteran is unable to suit up, Antonio Pipkin will presumably start.

Toronto is attempting to make its first Grey Cup appearance since 2017.
