Tiger-Cats sign former All-Star Geoff Tisdale, Dominique Ellis
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are bringing back a familiar face to bolster their defensive-back corps.
Former All-Star Geoff Tisdale will be making his return to the Steel City, as the eight-year CFL veteran agreed to terms with the club Sunday. The team also signed defensive back Dominique Ellis just a day after being released by the Montreal Alouettes.
Tisdale was a member of the Ticats from 2009-10 and again in 2012. He last played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2015, seeing limited playing time before being released on Aug. 15.
The 30-year-old defensive back was voted a CFL All-Star during the 2013 campaign with the Alouettes, recording 53 defensive tackles, seven interceptions, two sacks and one defensive touchdown.
Ellis appeared in 18 games for the Alouettes last season, recording 43 defensive tackles and two interceptions.
The signings come along with the final list of cuts made by the Ticats heading into Week 1 of the regular season.
