GIF: Schweinsteiger makes long-awaited return, is still great
Reuters
Bastian Schweinsteiger is back, and it's like he never missed a beat.
Hampered by a nagging tendon problem in his knee, the Bayern Munich midfielder made his first appearance since the World Cup final, coming off the bench in the second half of Saturday's match against Hoffenheim.
It didn't take him long to make an impact.
Less than ten minutes after getting onto the pitch, the midfield star set up Sebastian Rode for the fourth (and final) goal of the contest with a lovely through ball.
Welcome back, Bastian. We missed you.
