Stuttgart sack sport director Fredi Bobic
Sitting 18th of 18 in the Bundesliga table with only one point, Stuttgart announced Wednesday they've parted ways with sport director Fredi Bobic.
The former Stuttgart striker and Germany international held the position since the summer of 2010, but came under increased pressure in recent weeks following Stuttgart's dismal start to the season.
"The main reason for this step is the continued negative sporting achievements and the fact that in the current situation we don't see any possibility of making a positive, sustainable improvement," said chairman Joachim Schmidt in the club's official statement. "The fact is: after four years it has not been possible to put a team together that achieves a position in the league that matches our budget."
While Stuttgart also thanked Bobic for his "hard work and dedication" to the club, most supporters will surely be happy about the sacking.
