FC Schalke 04's first signing of the summer transfer window is complete.

Naldo, 33, joined Wolfsburg from Werder Bremen in 2012 and went on to tally 119 Bundesliga appearances for the Lower Saxony club, scoring 12 goals in the process.

"My time in Wolfsburg was successful and the club will always hold a special place in my heart," Naldo said. "But when Christian Heidel spoke to me it was clear that this would be a new and exciting challenge. I have a chance to celebrate more success with another strong side."
Schalke finished fifth in the Bundesliga this season, meaning the club will play in the 2016-17 Europa League.
