Rolly Romero pulled off a huge upset against Ryan Garcia, defeating him via unanimous decision (115-112, 115-112, 118-109) in the welterweight main event of Friday's event in Times Square.

Romero scored the only knockdown of the fight, flooring Garcia with two left hooks in the second round.

Garcia returned to the ring for the first time since serving a one-year suspension from the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC) for multiple positive drug tests.

The fight was relatively lackluster over the course of 12 rounds. Garcia topped Romero 66-57 in total punches and 48-39 in jabs, though they tied in power shots with 18 each.

With the victory, Romero is now riding a two-fight winning streak and improved to 17-2 as a professional. The 29-year-old hasn't lost since facing Isaac "Pitbull" Cruz in March 2024.

Garcia was coming off a no-contest against Devin Haney in April 2024. The 26-year-old originally earned a surprise majority decision win, but it was later overturned. Garcia, one of the biggest stars in boxing, is now a career 24-2 (1 NC).
