Ryan Garcia claims he's 'officially retired' from boxing
Ryan Garcia appeared to announce his retirement from boxing, posting on X that he's "officially retired" from the sport.
I’m officially retired

Garcia has been mired in controversy following his April 20 victory over Devin Haney.
He had two failed drug tests stemming from the Haney fight and B samples came back positive for the performance-enhancing drug ostarine in late May.
Garcia's legal team believes a contaminated supplement caused the positive test result.
The New York State Athletic Commission is set to meet this week to discuss Garcia's status following the positive results, according to Boxing Scene.
In another post on X, Garcia blamed corruption in boxing as one of the reasons for his decision to walk away.
Yall may catch me out and about but as far as boxing I don’t know
— RYAN GARCIA (@RyanGarcia) June 19, 2024
There is so much corruption I’m over it
I may do acting or singing
I’ll still be training but I’m hurt and done with it and everyone
The sad part is I’m a great boxer
And I entertain and knock people out…
The win over Haney improved Garcia's record to 25-1. However, he didn't win Haney's WBC junior welterweight title after coming in three pounds over the 140-pound limit ahead of the bout.
