Holyfield not interested in exhibition match vs. Tyson: 'I'm done now'
It appears there won't be a trilogy bout between Evander Holyfield and Mike Tyson.
After talk last year about a potential exhibition match against Tyson, Holyfield recently told TMZ Sports that he's no longer interested.
"It's too late ... I'm done now," the 59-year-old Holyfield said.
Holyfield defeated Tyson via TKO in 1996 and won their second match the following year when Tyson was disqualified for biting off part of his ear.
The two boxing legends were in discussions for a third fight in early 2021, but nothing came to fruition. Holyfield's representatives said at the time that they believed the bout "was a done deal," but Tyson rejected a $25-million offer.
Tyson hasn't fought since returning to the ring in November 2020 to face Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition bout.
Holyfield last fought in September 2021, losing to Vitor Belfort via TKO in the first round.
