Money played a major factor in Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s decision to square off against YouTube star Logan Paul.

In an interview with Rob Moore of the "Disruptive Entrepreneur" podcast, Mayweather explained his exhibition match against Paul allows him to make millions more than a regular fight while also tapping into his entertainer side.

"Because a fight is something that goes on your record forever. This is an exhibition. Why not?" the retired boxer said when asked why he agreed to the bout. "Like I just told you before, remember this: I got a sharp mind. I told y'all I was an entertainer. I'm not just a fighter, I'm an entertainer.

"So I can fight a fighter right now and I can guarantee myself, what $35 million? ... eventually probably make $50 million. Just a regular fight, right? Or me and Logan Paul or a YouTuber, we can go out and entertain and have fun and make nine figures, $100 million or more."

The Mayweather-Paul bout is scheduled to take place June 6 at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium.
