The Carolina Panthers have agreed to terms with undrafted running back Elijah Holyfield, the son of former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, the team announced Monday.
Elijah is the second rookie running back added by the Panthers this offseason, as they selected tailback Jordan Scarlett from Florida in the fifth round.
The Georgia product rushed for 1,018 yards and seven touchdowns on 159 carries in 2018. He'll be competing with four other running backs - including Scarlett and Cameron Artis-Payne - to be Christian McCaffrey's backup.
Evander, Elijah's father, recorded notable victories over boxing greats like George Foreman, Larry Holmes, and Mike Tyson.
