Djokovic will now match up against David Ferrer on Saturday. With a win, Djokovic would appear in his sixth final at the tournament.
Djokovic currently holds a dominating 32-2 record at the Internationali BNL d'Italia, winning in three separate occasions (2008, 2011 and 2014). Two of those victories were against No. 7 ranked Rafael Nadal.
Djokovic scales well against Ferrer, as he sports a 14-5 FedEx ATP head-to-head record against him, and has won each time in their past eight meetings.
