Novak Djokovic is scheduled to undergo surgery on a torn meniscus in Paris on Wednesday after injuring his knee at the French Open, according to ESPN's Tom Hamilton.
The procedure means that Djokovic will face a race to be fit in time to feature at Wimbledon, which runs from July 1 to July 14.
Djokovic suffered the injury in his right knee during his fourth-round victory over Francisco Cerundolo at Roland Garros on Monday.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion withdrew from the French Open a day later after an MRI revealed the meniscus tear.
Djokovic may opt to skip Wimbledon in order to focus on regaining fitness before the Paris Olympics begin in late July, Hamilton reports. The Olympics tennis tournament starts July 27.
Djokovic has never won a gold medal at the Olympics. He won bronze at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
Djokovic was a runner-up last year at Wimbledon, losing in the final against Carlos Alcaraz.
