Tight Ends

  • If Julius Thomas plans to unseat Jimmy Graham as the top tight end, he is off to a good start. Thomas hauled in three touchdowns and broke the 100-yard mark in the win over the Colts. Graham still remains above Thomas in this week's rankings, but it's closer than one might think.
  • Jordan Cameron called himself "day-to-day" and acted as if he would play this week. However, there are no guarantees he will be on the field. Fantasy owners don't want to hear it, but the Browns might actually be wise to let him take a game off to rest his shoulder.
  • Who needs Cam Newton? Greg Olsen caught eight passes from backup quarterback Derek Anderson for 83 yards and a score in Newton's absence. Olsen is a reliable source of tight end production and will face a Lions defense that allowed Giants tight end Larry Donnell to catch five balls for 56 yards and a touchdown.
  • Zach Ertz made the most of his five targets, securing three of them for 77 yards and a touchdown. Consistent targets will always be a problem for pass catchers in Chip Kelly's offense, but Ertz should overcome that by being a red zone threat.
  • Delanie Walker gets the Cowboys bump this week, making him a low-end TE1.
  • If you are desperate for a tight end (Ladarius Green owners, we are looking at you), Jermaine Gresham should see more targets in the Bengals passing game, with Tyler Eifert sidelined till at least Week 10.
