The Los Angeles Dodgers traded Michael Morse and cash to the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for outfielder Jose Tabata just before Friday's non-waiver trade deadline.

Morse, 33, was recently designated for assignment by the Dodgers after his involvement in a massive three-team trade Thursday.

The slugger struggled for Miami, hitting .213/.276/.313 with four home runs and 12 RBIs in 174 plate appearances.

Tabata, 26, was designated for assignment by the Pirates in late June and cleared waivers after hitting .289/.341/.289 in 41 plate appearances for the big-league club.
