Flowers impressed on Thursday, topping all the participants with 37 reps of 225 lbs. That total was just eight behind the best mark of 45, set in 2010 by Mitch Petrus. Flowers is rated high on many draft boards and is a potential first-round pick at tackle.

Morse and Hickey followed close behind and may have helped their stocks. Both were viewed as late round picks, but after their show of strength some scouts may be re-evaluating their value.

Other Notable Performances

  • Ali Marpet (C), Hobart & William Smith - 30 reps
  • Brandon Scherff (OT), Iowa - 23 reps
  • T.J. Clemmings (OT), Pittsburgh - 22 reps
  • La'el Collins (OT), LSU - 21 reps
  • Rob Havenstein (OT), Wisconsin - 16 reps

Marpet made some noise coming from a small school, finishing in a tie for fifth spot.

Meanwhile, Scherff, who many touted as possibly one of the strongest individuals at the combine, only managed to post a mediocre 23 reps.

Clemmings and Collins are being pegged by many to go in the first half of the first round, but their performance left a lot to be desired. Havenstein earned the dubious distinction of posting the worst total on Thursday.
