Here are theScore's third baseman value rankings for Sunday, May 29 (all stats exclude Saturday's games):

Value Rankings
C | 1B/DH | 2B | SS | 3B | OF | SP

Top Options

Name Opponent Value
Jung Ho Kang (TEX) vs. PIT 9
Kyle Seager (SEA) vs. MIN 8
Manny Machado (BAL) at CLE 8
Jose Ramirez (CLE) vs. BAL 8
Travis Shaw (BOS) at TOR 8

Kang was 5-for-10 with five RBIs, a home run, and a double in his previous two games coming into Saturday. He's hitting .333 with three home runs off lefties, and he'll face Rangers LHP Martin Perez. Seager hits fifth for the Mariners against right-handed starters, giving him plenty of RBI opportunities against Twins RHP Ricky Nolasco. He's hitting .303 off righties this year.

Mid-Tier Targets

Name Opponent Value
Derek Dietrich (MIA) at ATL 7
David Freese (PIT) at TEX 7
Adrian Beltre (TEX) vs. PIT 7
Brandon Drury (ARI) vs. SD 7
Eduardo Nunez (MIN) at SEA 6
Maikel Franco (PHI) at CHC 6
Yunel Escobar (LAA) vs. HOU 6
Anthony Rendon (WAS) vs. STL 6
Todd Frazier (CWS) at KC 6
Martin Prado (MIA) at ATL 6

Dietrich is a great cash-game option against Braves RHP Julio Teheran. He has a .302 batting average against righties. His two home runs, two triples and seven doubles also present some tournament upside. Freese is hitting a sparkling .357 off lefties, but he hasn't demonstrated much power at all this season.

Name Opponent Value
Matt Carpenter (STL) at WAS 5
Nick Castellanos (DET) at OAK 5
Chase Headley (NYY) at TB 5
Matt Duffy (SF) at COL 5
Aaron Hill (MIL) vs. CIN 5
Chris Coghlan (OAK) vs. DET 5
Justin Turner (LAD) at NYM 5
Chase d'Arnaud (ATL) vs. MIA 4
Danny Valencia (OAK) vs. DET 4
Josh Donaldson (TOR) vs. BOS 4
Nolan Arenado (COL) vs. SF 4
Evan Longoria (TB) vs. NYY 4
Yangervis Solarte (SD) at ARI 4
David Wright (NYM) vs. LAD 4
Brett Wallace (SD) at ARI 4
Luis Valbuena (HOU) at LAA 4

Carpenter will have a difficult matchup against Nationals RHP Stephen Strasburg in just his second game back from paternity leave. He's hitting just .252 off righties this year and will face one of the league's best. Castellanos continues to favor righties over lefties, but he is hitting .365 on the road. He's still a plus option against Athletics LHP Rich Hill.

Donaldson and Arenado have the highest upsides of the group but they also have the most difficult matchups. Arenado has the Coors Field advantage, but he's had trouble living up to the price adjustment while at home.

Nothing to See Here

Name Opponent Value
Kris Bryant (CHC) vs. PHI 3
Alex Rodriguez (NYY) at TB 3
Eugenio Suarez (CIN) at MIL 3
Jake Lamb (ARI) vs. SD 2
Ryan Flaherty (BAL) at CLE 2

Bryant had five hits in three games coming into Saturday, with a home run in each of his past two games. He hasn't performed at Wrigley Field, with a batting average of just .237 at home.
