UFC Fight Night 41 Preview: Munoz and Mousasi clash in important middleweight match-up

In a fight that should decide the potential for a future middleweight title run for one of these fighters, Mark Munoz and Gegard Mousasi square off in a battle of top-tier 185ers.

Both coming off losses to Lyoto Machida in their last fights, Munoz and Mousasi have something to prove when they step into the Octagon in Berlin, Germany on Saturday.

Before Machida finished him with a nasty head kick, Munoz dominated former light heavyweight Tim Boetsch with his relentless takedowns and "Donkey Kong" ground-and-pound but ran into a tall order facing current UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman before that.

Mousasi has had a bit of a slow start to UFC career with an injured knee that he underwent surgery for after his debut against Ilir Latifi in April 2013. That said, the former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion still holds wins over the likes of Renato Sorbal, Hector Lombard and Mark Hunt.

In addition to the Munoz-Mousasi main event, the card also features a middleweight match-up between Francis Carmont and CB Dollaway and a collision between up-and-coming 185ers in Luke Barnatt and Sean Strickland.

UFC Fight Night 41 goes down Saturday at the O2 World in Berlin with all the action on UFC Fight Pass kicking off with the prelims at 12:30 p.m. ET and the main card getting underway at 3 p.m. ET.
