Here are the 2023 fantasy catcher rankings for standard 5x5 leagues.

Rankings

Top 200 | C | 1B | 2B | 3B | SS | OF | SP | RP

Why Realmuto's No. 1: The Phillies backstop is the best all-around catcher available in fantasy. He's a gifted offensive player who ranked top-five at his position in several of the most important categories last season, including runs, RBIs, homers, and steals. His career .275 batting average and .332 on-base percentage won't hurt your team, either.

Player worth reaching for: Rutschman is a potential generational talent who has the look of an elite fantasy player, so reaching for him wouldn't be a bad move. The Orioles backstop hit 13 homers and finished second in the majors in runs scored and on-base percentage among catchers with 450 plate appearances last season.

Dark-horse pick: Haase is a perfect candidate, especially for managers looking for late-round power to fill an empty catcher slot. The backstop hit 14 homers and posted similar isolated power numbers to Rutschman and Murphy, who are expected to go far earlier in drafts. Haase's numbers should also improve with increased plate appearances, as he's expected to start most games behind the dish for the Tigers.
