Kevin Magnussen: Wins Belle Isle Pole
Magnussen has scored his first career IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship pole in qualifying for Saturday's Chevrolet Sports Car Classic at Detroit's Belle Isle, sportscar365.com reports.
Analysis:
Magnussen rode the momentum of his great final practice into pole qualifying Friday afternoon. He threw a strong lap of 1:20.031 on the board and that was good enough to claim the pole position. He edged Harry Tincknell in the No. 55 Mazda for the top starting spot. It was Magnussen's first-career pole in just his fourth IMSA WeatherTech start.
