Kyle Busch: First Laps in Lexus RC F GT3
Busch says that he's had to get his "get rid" of his NASCAR driving techniques in coming to grips with the Lexus RC F GT3 that he will race in the Rolex 24 at Daytona. The two-time and defending NASCAR Cup Series champion turned his first laps in the AIM Vasser Sullivan-run Lexus in Friday's opening test session at the Roar Before the Rolex 24, sportscar365.com reports.
Analysis:
It was an admirable effort in a car Busch was completely unfamiliar with coming into Friday. He ran a lap 1.5-seconds slower than teammate, Jack Hawksworth, who led the session in his shakedown run of the team's Lexus. "I've got my NASCAR driving techniques embedded in my brain and I've got to get rid of those a bit more," Busch said. "I'm getting more accustomed to what this car can take and what the driving techniques are. There are certainly a lot of differences between the two vehicles."
