Matt Kenseth: Wins All-Star Race Pole Position
Kenseth won the pole for the Monster Energy All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway Friday evening. He turned 3 laps and a four-tire pit stop in 127.644 seconds.
Analysis:
It was quite a performance for a veteran driver that just returned to action last week. The No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing team performed a flawless four-tire pit stop, and Kenseth ran very smooth laps and knocked his teammate, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., from atop the scoring pylon to grab the pole. This will be his 18th-career All-Star start, and Kenseth is a one-time winner (2004) of this prestigious exhibition event. He faces long odds of winning on Saturday night.
