Tuesday night's slate of games featured three hurlers - Jeff Samardzija, Mike Leake, and David Price - rumored to be on the move prior to Friday's non-waiver trade deadline.

Here's a breakdown of how each pitcher fared in their potential final outings with their respective clubs:

Jeff Samardzija

The Chicago White Sox righty hurled eight strong innings against the Boston Red Sox allowing four runs off seven hits while striking out three. The White Sox prevailed 9-4 to earn their sixth straight win and climb within two games of .500 (48-50). General manager Rick Hahn may need to reconsider his trade deadline philosophy and switch gears from seller to buyer if the winning streak persists into Friday.

Mike Leake

The sinkerballer turned in the best outing of the three, hurling eight shutout innings while surrendering four hits and striking out three as the Cincinnati Reds blanked the St. Louis Cardinals 4-0. Leake now has wins in four consecutive starts, yielding only two earned runs over 30 innings of work during that span. The 27-year-old will be a free agent this fall, and would fit nicely into the middle of a rotation for a contending squad.

David Price

Price's former club, the Tampa Bay Rays, shelled him for five runs over six innings of work. The southpaw was taken deep twice by Rays catcher Curt Casali, as the Detroit Tigers fell 10-2 to drop four games below .500 (48-52). The loss may push GM Dave Dombrowski into sell mode, and teams like the Los Angeles Dodgers will be salivating at the thought of acquiring Price.
