  • No matter how good Marshawn Lynch's understudies (Robert Turbin, Christine Michael) look in the preseason, "Beast Mode" is still the lead back in Seattle and after the top five there is no running back I would rather own.
  • Giovani Bernard looks as explosive as ever and the Bengals are even giving him some goal-line carries in the preseason. If he gets 300 touches this season, he will an outstanding fantasy running back.
  • All the talk of Le'Veon Bell sharing carries with LeGarrette Blount is worrisome and caused Bell to fall a few spots. Bell will still lead the Steelers backfield, but losing out on goal-line work would be a huge blow to his value.
  • Toby Gerhart made his first start as a Jaguar and was instantly used as a feature back. If Jacksonville can sustain drives, Gerhart will post high-end RB2 numbers.
  • Trent Richardson's struggles are continuing in his second season with the Colts. He averaged 2.3 yards per carry in a preseason tilt with the Giants on Saturday. Time to start thinking about Ahmad Bradshaw
  • X-rays were negative on Ray Rice's shoulder after he was forced from the game due to injury. Meanwhile, Bernard Pierce is playing well and will get a two-week audition to try to carve out an even bigger role when Rice serves his regular season suspension.
  • Danny Woodhead and Fred Jackson are two names that may not elicit a big response from your league on draft day, but they can be valuable players on your roster.
  • Tom Coughlin has favored a two-back approach for most of his time with the Giants and that could mean big things for rookie Andre Williams
  • Knowshon Moreno is getting closer to being healthy and when he does return to regular work, it will muddle the Miami backfield situation with Lamar Miller
