Saturday's Power Forward Value Rankings

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Here are the power forward value rankings for Saturday, December 12 (the game between the Los Angeles Clippers and Brooklyn Nets was omitted due to the early start time):

Value Rankings
PG | SG | SF | PF | C

Top Options

Name Opponent Value
Dirk Nowitzki (DAL) vs. WAS 10
Kristaps Porzingis (NY) at POR 9
Julius Randle (LAL) at HOU 9
Draymond Green (GS) at MIL 9
Anthony Davis (NO) at CHI 8

Nowitzki has been carrying the load for the Mavericks, and he's looked fully capable along the way. He finished just two rebounds shy of a double-double in his most recent game, after scoring 25 in his previous outing. He has a great matchup against the depleted Wizards' front court.

Porzingis and Randle have been producing at near-elite levels, yet their price fails to indicate as much. Randle should take advantage of a matchup against a bottom-five defense.

Best of the Rest

Name Opponent Value
Paul Millsap (ATL) vs. SA 7
LaMarcus Aldridge (SA) at ATL 7
Ersan Ilyasova (DET) vs. IND 7
Larry Nance Jr. (LAL) at HOU 6
Terrence Jones (HOU) vs. LAL 6

Millsap will need to quickly recover from a disappointing 7-point performance his last time out. Aldridge's production has been there whenever his minutes have been as well, but that isn't always the case.

Ilyasova has improved his rebounding, but his scoring and usage has been up and down. Jones will have upside with the matchup against the Lakers likely leading to increased playing time.

Name Opponent Value
David Lee (BOS) at CHA 5
Ryan Anderson (NO) at CHI 5
Marvin Williams (CHA) vs. BOS 5
Taj Gibson (CHI) vs. NO 5
Dwight Powell (DAL) vs. WAS 5

Anderson missed Friday's game, so ensure he manages to dress Saturday before locking him into your lineup. Gibson has been producing of late, but his role is somewhat volatile in a crowded Bulls' frontcourt.

Powell played over 20 minutes in his last game for the first time since November 28. He responded with an impressive 14 points and six rebounds, but the playing time needs to be there.

Nothing to See Here

Name Opponent Value
Jabari Parker (MIL) vs. GS 4
Ed Davis (POR) vs. NY 4
Nikola Mirotic (CHI) vs. NO 3
Amir Johnson (BOS) at CHA 3
David West (SA) at ATL 2

Mirotic is the best player in this group, but he is yet to re-establish a consistent role. West has hit double digits in points in two of his past three, but he made an unsustainable eight of 10 field-goal attempts in those games.
