Here are the point guard value rankings for Saturday, December 12 (the game between the Los Angeles Clippers and Brooklyn Nets was omitted due to the early start time):
Value Rankings

Top Options
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
John Wall (WAS) | at DAL | 10 |
Stephen Curry (GS) | at MIL | 9 |
Damian Lillard (POR) | vs. NY | 9 |
Jeff Teague (ATL) | vs. SA | 8 |
D'Angelo Russell (LAL) | at HOU | 8 |
Wall has begun to turn his season around, recording double-doubles in two of his past three games. Wall has taken on even more of the offensive workload due to the Wizards' banged-up front court, and Friday's surprise injury to Bradley Beal.
Curry is as safe as always, and his upside is even higher with Klay Thompson not at 100% health. Lillard hasn't had a double-double in four consecutive games, but he's still contributing in both the rebound and assist categories. He's gone 5-for-9 from 3-point range twice in that span.
Teague consistently returns value, and he has the potential for occasional high upside. Russell was thrust into a starting role Friday, due to the injury to Jordan Clarkson. While the uptick in minutes is a bonus he may be more effective off the bench as it keeps him away from Kobe Bryant, allowing him to have a larger role.
Best of the Rest
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Deron Williams (DAL) | vs. WAS | 7 |
Reggie Jackson (DET) | vs. IND | 7 |
Patty Mills (SA) | at ATL | 6 |
Isaiah Thomas (BOS) | at CHA | 6 |
Kemba Walker (CHA) | vs. BOS | 6 |
Williams' career resurgence continues for the Mavericks. He's averaging 19.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 2.6 3-pointers in his past seven games. Jackson's role has increased for the Pistons, as he attempted 18 field goals and six 3-pointers in his most recent game.
Mills is a viable option, even though his playing time can be inconsistent. Thomas has scored 20-plus points in four consecutive games, while Walker has at least 14 points and five rebounds in his past three.
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
Lou Williams (LAL) | at HOU | 5 |
Aaron Brooks (CHI) | vs. NO | 5 |
Patrick Beverley (HOU) | vs. LAL | 4 |
Tony Parker (SA) | at ATL | 4 |
Jose Calderon (NY) | at POR | 4 |
Williams and Brooks are solid floor options with larger roles than their respective prices indicate. Beverley, Parker and Calderon are all too unpredictable to be relied on for anything more than the bare minimum of production.
Nothing to See Here
Name | Opponent | Value |
---|---|---|
George Hill (IND) | at DET | 3 |
Dennis Schroder (ATL) | vs. SA | 2 |
Derrick Rose (CHI) | vs. NO | 2 |
Ish Smith (NO) | at CHI | 2 |
Rose has been more efficient of late, but he's taken just 11 field-goal attempts in each of his past two games, limiting his upside. Smith's role has decreased as Holiday's role grows, and his price doesn't yet account for him coming off the bench.
