Saturday's Shooting Guard Value Rankings

Sam Sharpe-USA TODAY Sports / Reuters

Here are the shooting guard value rankings for Saturday, December 12 (the game between the Los Angeles Clippers and Brooklyn Nets was omitted due to the early start time):

Value Rankings
PG | SG | SF | PF | C

Top Options

Name Opponent Value
Jimmy Butler (CHI) vs. NO 10
James Harden (HOU) vs. LAL 9
Nicolas Batum (CHA) vs. BOS 9
Tyreke Evans (NO) at CHI 8
O.J. Mayo (MIL) vs. GS 8

Butler has been benefiting from Derrick Rose taking fewer shots. He took 10 fewer field-goal attempts Thursday than he did in Wednesday's breakout game where he posted 36 points, but he still exceeded value with five rebounds and eight assists. He also chipped in two steals and two blocks.

Batum is coming off a triple-double, just two games after recording a double-double. He has made 22 3-pointers in his past 10 games, and his price increases can't keep up with his production.

Best of the Rest

Name Opponent Value
C.J. McCollum (POR) vs. NY 7
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (DET) vs. IND 7
Evan Turner (BOS) at CHA 7
Wesley Matthews (DAL) vs. WAS 6
Raymond Felton (DAL) vs. WAS 6

McCollum has recorded at least 17 points, four assists and two rebounds in each of his past four games. He's the Trail Blazers' second option on offense, and he's averaging well over 30 minutes per game.

Caldwell-Pope is the cheapest of the bunch, opening the door for him to easily return value. He doesn't do much else beyond scoring, but he has grabbed four rebounds in two of his past four games.

Name Opponent Value
Rodney Stuckey (IND) at DET 5
Arron Afflalo (NY) at POR 5
Eric Gordon (NO) at CHI 5
Jordan Clarkson (LAL) at HOU 5
Khris Middleton (MIL) vs. GS 5

Stuckey's minutes are going to be tougher to come by with the Pacers' revamped starting lineup. He's been efficient enough so far this season, that he can return value even in a limited role.

Clarkson was a late scratch Friday, but he'll return to a starting role if healthy Saturday.

Nothing to See Here

Name Opponent Value
Bradley Beal (WAS) at DAL 4
Klay Thompson (GS) at MIL 4
Avery Bradley (BOS) at CHA 4
Monta Ellis (IND) at DET 2
Kobe Bryant (LAL) at HOU 1

Beal and Thompson were both ruled out Friday, but they'll be overpriced Saturday, even if they make their return to the lineup. Bryant's price can't fall low enough for him to require consideration in daily fantasy.
